FISA – Film Industry Support Austria is a subsidy programme by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs designed to support the production of cinema films. Funding is possible for national productions, Austrian-foreign co-productions as well as service productions.
91st Academy Awards 2019
We congratulate THE WALDHEIM WALTZ by Ruth Beckermann, which was selected by a jury convened by FAMA (Association of the Film and Music Industry) as a nominee in the Foreign Language Film competition at the 91st Academy Awards that is held on February 24, 2019.
Whether the film actually makes it into the Oscar final, will be announced on January 22, 2019.
The project received the Glashütte Original Documentary Award at this year's Berlinale.

ANGELO in Toronto and San Sebastián
We are happy to announce that ANGELO by Markus Schleinzer is about to celebrate two premieres on international festivals:
- Section PLATFORM Toronto (World Premiere)
- Section GOLDEN SHELL San Sebastián (European Premiere)
The Austrian premiere will take place on October 26, 2018 as part of the Viennale.

New Guidelines from May 1st, 2018
During the 16th meeting of the FISA Advisory Board the board members issued the following recommendations to meet the aim for a stronger international approach of the funding programme:
- The non-repayable grant for Austrian-foreign co-productions amounts up to 25 per cent of the production costs eligible for support.
- Reduced minimum spend and total production costs in case of service productions:
-) Minimum spend in Austria (eligible productions costs): EUR 400.000.- (feature)
-) Minimum total budget of production:
a) feature film: EUR 4 M
b) documentary: EUR 500.000.-
